Aerosmith , first arrived at Rik Tinory's Studio in Cohasset, Massachusetts in 1988 and stayed for over 18 months and barely missed a day. The band created most of the songs on the album, "PUMP", at this legendary studio. They went on to win their first GRAMMY AWARD in the band's history on February 20, 1991.

"I can still see Joe Perry's and Steven Tyler's smiling faces when the Grammy Award arrived at my studio. During that time, the  hit video "THE MAKING OF PUMP" was created".

These were happy, fun times. The band worked incredibly hard. Steven  sometimes worked into the night and up to eleven hours a day. Classics like: "Janie's Got a Gun" , "What It Takes" and most of the hit songs for "PUMP" came together so F.I.N.E. in Cohasset.

There were regular visits by Producer Bruce Fairbairn, John Kalodner of Geffen Records, Manager, Tim Collins and many other big wigs.

When Steven Tyler's white Chevy clunker, rolled down the long driveway, this legendary studio added yet another name to it's long list of credits. This is a piece of Rock & Roll History, at it's Best

The Band returned  again in 1991 for "GET A GRIP." At that time, the band recorded their first appearance for "THE SIMPSONS" Television Program at the studio.

The biggest bash of all, was when a fleet of limos arrived for the M.T.V. Harley Davidson Motorcycle Contest. A Big Party Tent was erected on the Studio's spacious grounds with Aerosmith partying with the winners.

This was "HOME AGAIN" for one of the greatest Rock & Roll bands in the world !

FRANK SINATRA / DON COSTA

Photo copyright 1999 Rik Tinory Photo Collection

I met Don Costa in 1959. In those days, things were wild in New York. Don was, "the man"! Everyone wanted him. H(e was the most sought after Arranger and Producer in New York and the world. He was responsible for launching many Hit Records with artists: Paul Anka, Trini Lopez, Steve Lawrence and Edie Gorme, Ferrante and Teicher, and so many more. Don was head of A&R at ABC Paramount, under Sam Clark, President.

Don Costa then left ABC Paramount to head the A&R dept. for United Artists where he arranged and Produced a hit single for me entitled, "BLUSHING GIRL", released on United Artist Records. (Order  this Classic recording now)

Don recorded too many hits for me to name them all, including Frank Sinatra's biggest, "MY WAY" and "NEW YORK, NEW YORK ." After Don's heart attack, he was no longer able to conduct for Frank and he designated my close friend, Joe Parnello, as Frank Sinatra's Conductor.

After Don had passed away, things were never the same for Frank Sinatra as far as his recordings went.

When Frank appeared for his last concert in Boston, a lady in the audience hollered to Frank,"Hey Frank, when is your next Album coming out? " Frank replied," When I Find another Don Costa ! "
